Qinyang Shennong Mountain is a National Scenic Area and a National AAAA-level Tourist Attraction.

Introduction:

The Shennong Mountain Scenic Area is a UNESCO Global Geopark, a Grade A Priority Protected Area of the World Wide Fund for Nature, a National AAAA-level Tourist Attraction, a National Macaque Nature Reserve, and a Provincial Science Education Base. It is situated at the foothills of the Taihang Mountains, 23 kilometers northwest of Qinyang City, covering a total area of 96 square kilometers with eight major scenic zones and 136 attractions. The main peak, Zijin Summit, stands at an elevation of 1,028 meters, towering majestically in the sky. The Three Heavenly Gates are 154 years older than those of Mount Tai. This was once a sacred site where the Yan Emperor, Shennong, identified grains and tasted herbs, as well as a place where Laozi, the founder of Taoism, refined elixirs and attained immortality. Over the ages, its stunning natural scenery has attracted emperors, generals, scholars, and poets. Tang Dynasty Emperor Li Longji (Xuanzong), Han Yu, and Li Shangyin, among other historical figures, left behind many timeless literary masterpieces here.
