Arabic Inscription at Shuinan Pass Mosque

The Arabic Inscription at Shuinan Pass Mosque is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Arabic Inscription of Qinyang is located within the Shuinan Pass Mosque in Qinyang City. It is a treasured artifact inlaid in the mosque’s mihrab niche and was carved in the late Song and early Yuan dynasties. After conducting an on-site inspection and review, Ma Zishu concluded that the Qinyang Arabic Inscription serves as an important historical testament to the Hui people's establishment in the Central Plains. It provides reliable physical evidence for studying the westward migration of Hui Muslims, the formation of the Hui community in the Huai-Meng region, the beliefs of Muslims, and the spread and development of Arabic script in China. It holds significant cultural, artistic, and research value.

In May 2013, the Arabic Inscription at Shuinan Pass Mosque was listed as part of the seventh batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.
