Danjiang Grand View Garden is located in Xichuan County, Nanyang City, Henan Province, and is built around the artificial freshwater reservoir — the Danjiangkou Reservoir, which is the water source of the Middle Route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project.

The Danjiangkou Reservoir, the source of the Middle Route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, is an artificial freshwater lake. With its vast expanse of shimmering blue waters blending seamlessly with the sky, picturesque mountains and clear waters, and uniquely shaped rocks and peaks, it presents a breathtakingly beautiful scene. Danjiang Grand View Garden is situated in one of the areas richest in natural landscapes around the Danjiangkou Reservoir. From west to east, the scenic area features several islands, namely Lovers' Island, Turtle Island, Deer Island, and Crane Island. Among them, Lovers' Island extends the farthest into the water and forms a semi-circular natural harbor together with Turtle Island. The garden is nestled against mountains and beside water, with the landscape seamlessly integrated, making it a radiant pearl inlaid along the shores of Danjiang Lake.

Leveraging the natural resources of the Danjiang Reservoir and the significant influence of the Middle Route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, the scenic area highlights five major cultural themes: "Herbal Medicine Culture, Water Culture, Chu Culture, Buddhist Culture, and Merchant Culture."
