The Malin Site

The Malin Site is a protected cultural heritage site of Henan Province.

The Malin Site is located in Malin Natural Village, Jiawan Village, Shengwan Township, Xichuan County, Nanyang City, Henan Province. It sits on a riverside terrace southwest of the confluence of the Danjiang River and the Xishui River, with central geographical coordinates at 32°55′49″N, 111°28′30″E, and an elevation of 160–166.3 meters. The site was first surveyed and discovered in 1957 by the Henan Provincial Cultural Relics Work Team, and two excavations were carried out in 1958 and 1974.

The site covers a vast area, spanning a total of 60,000 square meters. It is a Neolithic cultural relic site that includes artifacts from various periods such as the Yangshao, Longshan, and Qujialing cultures. Finds include pottery and stone tools.

It was designated as a provincial-level cultural heritage protection unit in 1963.
