Dasuji Site

The Dasuji Site is a cultural relic protection unit of Hebei Province.

The Dasuji Site is located two meters north of Dasuji Village, covering an area of 1.5 million square meters. The geographical coordinates of the central area of the site are 41°29′16.5″N, 114°09′33.8″E, and it is a cultural site from the Neolithic Age. In 1956, archaeological collections included handmade yellow-brown pottery, featuring plain surfaces and cord patterns, as well as low-quality agate cores, stone flakes, stone grinding rods, stone grinding plates, and oblique-blade stone adzes—identified as artifacts from a Neolithic cultural site. During the 1978 survey by the Zhangjiakou Cultural Relics Census Team, five stone tools (such as stone shovels, stone hoes, and stone axes), five linchpins, and one white-glazed porcelain jar were collected. In 1983, it was listed as a county-level key cultural relic protection unit. During the 1985 cultural relics census, items such as stone pestles, stone grinding rods, stone axes, and stone net sinkers were collected. In 2008, during the third national cultural relics census, pottery shards such as clay red pottery, gray pottery, and gray-mixed pottery were collected. In July 1993, it was designated as a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit by the People’s Government of Hebei Province.
