Ximiao Village North Site

The Ximiao Village North Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Hebei Province.

The Ximiao Village North Site is located approximately 60 kilometers southeast of Shangyi County. The site features a terraced gentle slope. It stretches 500–540 meters from north to south and 480–445 meters from east to west, covering an area of 240,000 square meters. The surface soil is mostly loess, about 6–7 meters thick. The southern part of the area is a village, and the western side is a deep gully. In 1982, a complete ostrich egg fossil was unearthed. During the 1986 county cultural relics survey, collected artifacts included sandy pottery, clamshell-included red pottery, sandy gray pottery fragments, and brown pottery pieces. Stone artifacts such as stone balls, chopping tools, and flaked stone tools were also found. A small number of microliths are exposed on the surface, mainly bladelets, flakes, and fingernail-shaped scrapers, along with a few ostrich eggshell fragments and some animal fossils. The site’s history extends from the Neolithic Age down to the post-Warring States and Han Dynasty periods.

In October 2008, it was designated as a provincial-level cultural heritage protection unit by the People's Government of Hebei Province.
