Located in the world’s “golden zone” at 40°N latitude—one of the most ideal regions for grape cultivation—Great Wall Sanggan Winery enjoys abundant sunshine and moderate warmth, hence the name “SUNGOD” (Sun God). It is also said to lie along the same axial line as the Forbidden City in the capital, thus earning the title “winery on the Dragon Vein.”

In 2010, at the age of 31, Great Wall Sanggan Winery embarked on a three-year expansion and renovation project based on its predecessor, the “Great Wall Manor,” completing the work in July 2013 and reopening to the public. The winery has gained widespread fame not only for its wines but also for its rich cultural heritage. In 1979, China’s first dry white wine was elegantly introduced, filling a gap in the country’s wine industry. By producing China’s first international-standard dry white wine made with new techniques, Great Wall Sanggan Winery marked the beginning of the country’s estate-bottled wine history.

Great Wall Sanggan wines have repeatedly stood out on the global wine stage, becoming a source of pride for China. As the designated wine for China’s highest-level state banquets, it has been served to government leaders from around the world. Driving directions: Take the Shacheng exit on the Beijing-Zhangjiakou Expressway, turn right toward Blue Whale Hotel, then left and go straight to the Traffic Bureau. Turn right and go straight for 4 kilometers until you see the Sanggan Winery road sign, then turn left and go straight for 800 meters, followed by a right turn and drive 1.4 kilometers.
