On the morning of September 5, 2014, Huailai, known as the "Hometown of Grapes in China" and the "Hometown of Wine in China," held the opening ceremony of the 15th China・Huailai Grape (Wine) Festival at the Xiangshuiwan Allen Winery. The atmosphere was lively and vibrant. In this nationally and even globally renowned wine-producing region, this grand Grape (Wine) Festival has now reached its 15th year.
Cultivation Technology Empowers, Grape Bases Lead the Way, Striving to Build the Shacheng Brand
Over the years, Huailai has expanded the brand influence of grape culture through events such as the Grape Festival, while also putting significant effort into grape cultivation. Currently, the county’s grape industry spans 16 townships, involving 45,000 farming households, with over 160,000 people engaged in the grape industry year-round. Six major grape planting bases have been developed, including those in Sangyuan, Donghuayuan, and Xiaonanxinfu.
Additionally, in terms of introducing advanced technology, Huailai has further optimized its planting structure by focusing on high-quality grape varieties. It has launched the use of grafted seedling factories, actively promoted grafting techniques, and vigorously developed facility-based grape cultivation. Regarding industrial restructuring, the region leverages advantages such as its climate resources to formulate incentive policies for investment attraction, talent development, and technological innovation in the grape industry. It also promotes the "farmer + cooperative + leading enterprise" cooperation model to enhance the scale and standardization of grape planting bases.
It is reported that Huailai County has specially hired internationally renowned planners to design the overall development of the grape industry in the "Shacheng Production Area." Within the wineries of the Shacheng Production Area, the "Shacheng Wine" geographical indication has been put into use, adhering to the high standards of the "Shacheng Wine Geographical Indication Protected Product Certification," and striving to build the Shacheng grape brand. With the promotional activities of this Huailai Grape (Wine) Festival, the reputation of Huailai’s diversified modern grape industrial chain will be further amplified.
