Beixinpu Tomb Cluster

The Beixinpu Tomb Cluster is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Hebei Province.

The Beixinpu Tomb Cluster is located in Beixinpu Village, Beixinpu Township, Huailai County, with the center of the cluster situated around the area where the Beixinpu Township government is located. The tombs are distributed both north-south and east-west. The site sits at an elevation of 507 meters, with a longitude of 115°45’ and a latitude of 40°25’ N. The tomb cluster lies to the north of the Yanshan Mountain Range, with the Beijing-Zhangjiakou Highway running east-west across it. To the west is the Sha River, and to the east are cultivated fields belonging to the Guishui water system. The cluster stretches approximately 200 meters from east to west and about 150 meters from north to south, covering a protected area of around 30,000 square meters. The remains date back to the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods and are characteristic of the Yan State tombs with an "Ordos" style. There are no burial mounds present. In 1985, a team led by Director Zheng Shaozong of the Provincial Cultural Relics Research Institute conducted excavations and a comprehensive survey of the site.

Protection

In July 1993, it was designated as a provincial-level cultural heritage protection unit by the People’s Government of Hebei Province.

Beixinpu Village: Beixinpu Village is located in the town center of Beixinpu. Both National Highway 110 and the Daqin Railway pass through the village. The village currently has 1,308 households and a permanent population of 3,449 people, with a total regional area of 989 hectares, including 65 hectares of arable land. The annual per capita income is 14,568 yuan.
