The Tomb Cluster of Taizi Liang

The Tomb Cluster of Taizi Liang is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Hebei Province.

The Han Tomb Cluster of Taizi Liang is located about five li northeast of Yu County. Taizi Liang is a relatively high earthen mound surrounded by lower terrain. The cluster stretches approximately 3,700 meters from north to south and about 3,500 meters from east to west, forming an irregular circle with a total area of around 1,295,000 square meters and an elevation of 925.6 meters. The Hulu River is located about 3,000 meters northwest of Taizi Liang, flowing from southwest to northeast.

The soil around Taizi Liang is predominantly loess, with the deeper layers of the burial mounds consisting of the Nihewan Formation, locally referred to as "white clay soil." The surrounding area consists of farmland, while the areas around M33, M34, and M35 are orchards. The farmlands grow various crops. There are three north-south artificial irrigation channels on Taizi Liang, and numerous intersecting farm roads and footpaths connect the villages on the mound. At the northeastern tip of Taizi Liang stands an abandoned Ming Dynasty fortress. The area around M28 to M31 in the northeastern part of Taizi Liang is an ancient site from the Warring States period, where numerous Warring States–era rope-patterned pottery shards are exposed on the surface.

In July 1993, it was designated as a provincial-level cultural heritage site by the People’s Government of Hebei Province.
