2012Year1Month13Day, as the Spring Festival approaches,organized by the Yu County Party Committee and County Government, and hosted by the Yu County Party Committee Propaganda Department, Yu County Tourism Bureau, and Nuanquan Town,the "2nd Yu County Folk Culture Festival" officially kicked off in Yu County, Hebei Province. On the day, a promotion conference, launch ceremony, folk performances, and a field trip for over 100 online media outlets were held, with leaders from the municipal tourism bureau, 100 online media outlets nationwide, and travel agents invited to attend.
With its unique folk culture, Yu County has been selected as the "Best Folk Culture Tourism City in China" and is hailed by netizens as one of the "Top Ten Most Festive Places in China."The folk activities are rich and diverse, many of which are unique among Chinese folk customs.This New Year festival will run from2012year1month16to2month28, lasting44days, and will celebrate China’s grand Spring Festival in a uniquely Yu County way. This folk culture festival highlightsthe promotional slogan "Red Yu Zhou, Festive New Year," with content including "exploring the ancient city, strolling through the old town, watching folk performances, admiring paper-cuttings, tasting local snacks, and viewing tree flower fireworks." The tour routes include “one-day tours” and “two-day tours,” organically integrating Yu County’s traditional folk customs with the New Year celebrations and presenting them in full splendor. During the event, a variety of festive activities will be held, such as writing Spring Festival couplets, paper-cutting exhibitions, folk performance shows, lantern festivals, and light displays, delivering a non-stop folk carnival that creates a joyous and harmonious atmosphere of prosperity.
2010In the year, the Yu County Party Committee and County Government proposed to establish the cultural brand of "Capital of Northern Chinese New Year Culture" and the "New Year Folk Custom Business Card of China," delving deep into the folk culture of the New Year season and creating tourism products that meet the needs of source markets. In 2011, the "1st Yu County Folk Culture Festival" achieved unprecedented success with "50,000 visitors watching tree flower fireworks, 100,000 enjoying tree flower displays, and one million watching folk performances." In 2012, the "2nd Yu County Folk Culture Festival" first refined and packaged existing folk performances (tree flower fireworks, lantern mountain worship, fireworks, stilts, boat lantern dancing, lion dancing, swaying, single-pole bridge, carrying stands, lifting stands, back stands, Yuzhou storytelling, Daiwang war drums, yangge dance, bull vs. tiger, fighting dragon, living horse dance, pole lighting, etc.) according to market demand and presented them as mature tourism products at the event.
