Laiyang Dingzi Bay Provincial Tourism Resort

The Laiyang Dingzi Bay Resort is situated on the shores of the Yellow Sea’s Dingzi Bay in the southern part of Laiyang City. It borders Yantai to the northeast and Qingdao to the southwest, making it an important hub connecting tourism cities such as Qingdao, Yantai, and Weihai along the southern coast of the Shandong Peninsula, with a notably strategic location. The area features an interconnected network of roads including the Weiqing Highway, Weiqing Expressway, Laiqing Road, Laigao Road, and Laiyang-Yanggu Road. The under-construction Qingdao Coastal Avenue and the connection road to the Weiqing Expressway lead directly to the resort, ensuring excellent transportation access. Dingzi Bay boasts deep waters and broad expanses, with calm waves, making it a natural sheltered harbor. The Wulong River, the largest river in Jiaodong, flows into the sea here, forming vast ecological wetlands and spectacular landscapes where the river meets the sea. The natural scenery is stunningly beautiful and serves as a paradise for birds. Surrounding the resort, historical sites such as the Jin Kou Ancient Town, Tianhou Palace, Our Lady’s Palace, Dragon King Temple, and Golden Mountain Pagoda complement one another. These sites reflect rich cultural heritage related to commerce, Mazu worship, and fishing traditions, contributing to the area’s abundant tourism resources. Since receiving approval from the provincial government in August 2010, the Dingzi Bay Resort has invested over 6 billion yuan. A number of tourist attractions and leisure facilities have been completed, including the Jinshan International Club, Niangniang Mountain Tianhou Our Lady Palace Scenic Area, Fushan Dragon King Temple Scenic Area, Jinshan Pagoda Scenic Area, and Jinshan Ski Resort. Additionally, tourism service facilities such as the four-star Nanhai Resort Hotel and five-star Jinshan International Hotel have been finished. Currently, projects under construction include the Wulong River Scenic Area, Sanjia Temple Scenic Area, Xiangdao Yacht Marina, National Coastal Wetland Special Reserve, and Jin Kou Ancient Town. The overarching tourism framework of “one river (Wulong River), one bay (Yellow Sea’s Dingzi Bay), two islands (Xiangdao and Lidao), and four mountains (Jinshan, Fushan, Yuhuang Mountain, and Niangniang Mountain)” is beginning to take shape.

1. Take the Qingdao-Weifang Expressway → exit at Laixue Road → head west on Qingshi Highway to Laigao Road → follow signs for 5 minutes to reach Tianhou Our Lady Road; 2. Take the Yantai-Qingdao First-Class Highway → head south at the Laigao Road intersection → drive 2.5 km south of Gaogezhuang Town → follow signs for 5 minutes to reach the destination.
