Furu Donghai Cultural Park

Furu Donghai Cultural Park is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Furu Donghai Cultural Park is situated in Rushan Yintan, a national AAAA-level tourist resort. With a total investment of 1 billion yuan and covering an area of 1,500 acres, it is a tourism project themed around "Furu Donghai" (Happiness as Vast as the Eastern Sea). The scenic area mainly draws on themes such as happiness, longevity, health, peace, and joy. Through high-tech presentation techniques and stylish artistic forms, it interprets the profound historical and cultural significance of the theme "Happiness as Vast as the Eastern Sea," creating an atmosphere where “in the south there is Hainan’s 'Longevity as Lofty as Nanshan Mountain' and in the north there is Rushan’s 'Happiness as Vast as the Eastern Sea,' echoing each other across the country.”

The scenic area consists of five themed cultural parks: Happiness, Longevity, Health, Peace, and Joy.

The Happiness Park mainly features the Gospel Landscape Avenue, with eight traditional Chinese musical instruments representing metal, stone, wood, earth, silk, bamboo, gourd, and leather displayed along both sides of the avenue. At the southern end of the avenue lies the Gospel Square, centered around a voice-activated giant Gospel Bell. To the south of the Gospel Square is the Fuhai Tower, also known as the Museum of Happiness Culture. Standing 108 meters tall, this building is a masterpiece that blends tradition with modernity, serving as the iconic structure and centerpiece of Furu Donghai Cultural Park. Its ambiance and grandeur make it the foremost landmark in eastern Shandong. Inside, it mainly displays the crystallization of happiness culture among China’s 56 ethnic groups, showcasing representative artworks, crafts, specialty products, live performances, along with ethnic music, singing, and dance shows. The sculpture of the God of Happiness (one of the Gods of Happiness, Longevity, Prosperity, and Joy), standing 89 meters tall to the south of Fuhai Tower, is the park’s most iconic landmark and symbolic feature.

The Longevity Park mainly includes the Xu Fu Culture Exhibition Hall and the Qiantong City, recreating the scene where Xu Fu led 6,000 boys and girls to pray for immortality and teach/read here while searching for the elixir of life for Emperor Qin Shi Huang.

The Health Park primarily features a yacht marina, a water sports base, a new media art center, and the Crystal Palace. The yacht marina can accommodate 300 yachts; the water sports base offers various activities such as water skiing, windsurfing, sea towing, and dragon boat racing. The new media art center mainly serves as a yacht member club, yacht training base, and reception center. The Crystal Palace complex consists of the Dragon Palace and the Tsunami Pavilion. The Dragon Palace displays an underwater world, while the Tsunami Pavilion uses high-tech means to simulate scenes of disasters such as tsunamis and earthquakes.

The Peace Park includes the Happiness Culture Academy, the Painting Academy, and the Calligraphy Academy. Each year, it invites renowned painters, calligraphers, and writers from across the country to create artworks here, leaving precious pieces for visitors to view and study.

The Joy Park is located in the coastal western part of the cultural park. Centered around the theme of joy, it offers a variety of water amusement activities. The entertainment facilities include roller coasters, Ferris wheels, water slides, and a looped lazy river. The beach area provides activities such as beach volleyball and beach soccer, along with model aircraft, model boats, and sand sculpture exhibitions and competitions. Water activities include water skiing, windsurfing, and parasailing.

The Furu Donghai Cultural Park project closely aligns with the strategic plan of Shandong Province’s Jiaodong Peninsula coastal tourism route and Weihai City’s initiative to create a “Thousand-Mile Happy Coastline.” Once completed, the project will become a shining pearl on the Thousand-Mile Happy Coastline.
