Houwang Village in Wangfen Town is a National Civilized Village and a National Model Village for Democracy and Rule of Law. It is located 2 kilometers north of the provincial Bolin Road, 5 kilometers north of Linglong Mountain, 25 kilometers southeast of Yangtian Mountain, and 20 kilometers southwest of Huanghua Stream. It serves as a passing point for visits to Yangtian Mountain and Huanghua Stream. The village is known for its distinctive filial piety culture. Starting in 2004, it was the first in China to propose “governing the village with filial piety,” becoming a widely renowned “Village of Filial Piety.”

Since 2008, it has hosted three consecutive Filial Piety Culture Art Festivals and National Seminars on “Governing the Village with Filial Piety.” It has also built a Filial Piety Culture Square, a Filial Piety Culture Exhibition Room, a “Four Virtues Street,” and filial piety-themed agritainment facilities. The village boasts rich tourism resources, with a forest coverage rate of 73%. At the top of XuanYang Mountain to the north of the village lies the natural Huangchao Cave, a large karst cave said to have been a military encampment for Huang Chao, leader of a peasant uprising in ancient times.

The village also has Qingzhou’s first strawberry picking garden. From October each year to May of the following year, over 300 pounds of fresh strawberries ripen daily in the garden, awaiting visitors for self-picking.
