Nanzhanglou Village has a long history, with historical records indicating its existence since the Yuan Dynasty. It bears powerful testimony to its storied past: a Yuan Dynasty horse trough, exquisitely patterned and meticulously crafted, with an inscription in the center reading "Made in the seventh year of the Dade era." Starting in 1988, against the backdrop of the sister-province relationship established between Shandong Province and Bavaria in Germany, and with the support and guidance of the Bavarian government and the SEDESI Foundation, Nanzhanglou Village successfully explored a new rural development model that achieved urban-rural equalization through land consolidation and village revitalization.
