Five-Colored Goldfish in Shangyuan

This area is located in Jiazhuang Township and features tourism resources such as five-colored goldfish, thousand-mu light bamboo forests, peculiar rocks on Xingshan Mountain, ten-thousand-mu orchards, and the Changxin Bridge Reservoir.

The five-colored goldfish in Shangyuan are said to have been raised in the imperial garden of a princess from the Xia clan during the Ming Dynasty, boasting a history of 500 years. Today, this type of goldfish only exists in three places in the world. It comes in a variety of colors and patterns, with a delicate and adorable physique. The fishpond is seven meters square, and the water level never overflows or recedes throughout the year. The five-colored goldfish cannot survive overnight if taken out of this pond, adding an air of mystery that remains unsolved to this day.

Cangshan is located at the northern edge of the subtropical zone. The thousand-mu light bamboo forest, a subtropical plant species, remains lush and green all year round, earning the title “Number One Bamboo Garden in Southern Shandong.” It is mainly concentrated along both sides of National Highway 206 and holds high ornamental value.

The scenic area is surrounded by the ten-thousand-mu chestnut orchard in Yayougou and the Changxin Bridge Reservoir. Lush green mountains encircle the area, creating pleasant scenery. This region is close to the county seat and is known as its “back garden.” Especially with its unique Shangyuan tourism resources such as the “five-colored goldfish, bestowed by the Ming emperor,” it will undoubtedly greatly enhance the area’s appeal as a tourist destination.
