Wangling Site

The Wangling Site is located about 50 meters northeast of Wangling Village, Xiacun Township, Lanling County, on the eastern shore of Shuanghe Reservoir. It is a slope site, measuring 80 meters from east to west and 100 meters from north to south, covering an area of approximately 8,000 square meters. The cultural layer is about 4 meters thick, and collected samples include stone cores, scrapers, and animal fossils. It is the earliest Paleolithic remains discovered so far in Lanling County.

Xiacun Township: Known as the "Pastoral Land beneath the Hills · Scenic Xiacun," Xiacun Township in Lanling County is located in the northwest part of the county. It borders Shanting District of Zaozhuang to the west and Fei County to the north, situated at the junction of two cities and three counties. Covering a total area of 130 square kilometers with a population of 48,000, the township features seven major drainage basins, eight reservoirs, and eleven rivers. It boasts abundant natural resources and a beautiful ecological environment, and is hailed as the "Back Garden" of Lanling County.
