Huimin Haojia Site

The Huimin Haojia Site is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Shandong Province.

The Haojia Site belongs to the Shang and Zhou cultures and is located in Haojia Village, Sunwu Subdistrict Office, Huimin County. Originally a raised mound, the site was locally known as "Clam Mound" but has since been leveled into farmland due to agricultural development. The surface of the site exposes numerous fragments of artifacts. Collected samples include remnants of vessels such as li tripods, dou stem cups, guan jars, and gui food containers, made from materials such as sand-tempered pottery, clam-shell tempered pottery, and gray clay pottery, all dating back to the Shang and Zhou periods. Among them, the Shang Dynasty sand-tempered red pottery li tripod with cord markings and the Zhou Dynasty pottery guan jars and dou stem cups are relatively typical. In June 1992, the site was designated as part of the second batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units.

Sunwu Subdistrict: Sunwu Subdistrict is located in Huimin County, Binzhou City, Shandong Province. It is the hometown of Sun Wu, the great ancient Chinese military strategist and the “Sage of War.” Situated on the North Shandong Plain where the winding Yellow River flows, it borders Jinan to the west, faces the Bohai Sea to the north, and leans against the Yellow River to the south. Covering a total area of 107.3 square kilometers, it governs 8 subdistrict offices and 132 administrative villages (streets), with 76,000 mu of arable land and a total population of 53,100. Originally named Huimin Town, in February 2006, it was renamed Sunwu Town with the approval of the provincial government, becoming the first town in Shandong Province to be named after a historical figure.
