May 19 is China Tourism Day. Yesterday, the Shaanxi Provincial Tourism Bureau announced that on the day of the event, the province will host a series of activities themed “Dialogue Between the Qinling Mountains and the Yellow River.” A total of 245 people-friendly measures will be introduced, with many scenic spots across the province offering half-price tickets that day. Among them, 18 scenic spots including Huashan will distribute free admission tickets that day at the South Square of the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda.
245 People-Friendly Measures Across the Province
The Qinling Mountains and the Yellow River represent the rich tourism resources of beautiful Shaanxi. On May 19, the Shaanxi Provincial Tourism Bureau will hold a “Dialogue Between the Qinling Mountains and the Yellow River” at Cuihua Mountain, inviting cultural celebrities and tourism experts for interviews to comprehensively showcase the beauty of Shaanxi’s history and culture, natural ecology, humanistic spirit, and scientific development, thereby expanding the influence of the brand “Beautiful Shaanxi: Landscape, Culture, and Humanity.”
On that day, the Shaanxi Provincial Tourism Bureau will present flags to two teams—one a cycling team and the other a self-driving team. One team will cycle along the Yellow River, and the other will drive into the Qinling Mountains, thus kicking off the activities of China Tourism Day. Other events include a quiz activity called “All About Shaanxi Tourism,” an image collection campaign for Shaanxi tourism, an interactive activity titled “Dialogue with Celebrities, Recommend Your Hometown,” and a Weibo competition called “Father Mountain Dialogues with Mother River.”
It is reported that the tourism industry across the province has launched a total of 245 people-friendly measures. Among them, over 100 scenic spots (sites) in the province are offering free admission or discounted tickets at 50–80% off, while hotels and travel agencies are also providing preferential prices.
100,000 People-Friendly Gift Packs to Be Distributed
On May 19, 18 scenic spots across the province will promote and consult with citizens at the South Square of the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda in Xi’an and distribute free admission tickets. At the same time, these 18 scenic spots will offer discounted ticket prices that day.
These scenic spots include: Huashan, Hukou Waterfall, Guanzhong Folk Art Museum, Yellow River Soul Scenic Area, China Stone Drum Park, Sima Qian’s Temple, Jinsixia, Qiankun Bay, Louguantai, Baiyun Mountain, Zibai Mountain, Maiden’s Spring, Haogou Scenic Area in Ningshan County, Yellow River Rafting in Jiaxian County, Yulin, Haiquan Bay in Xianyang, Yaowang Mountain in Tongchuan, Yangling Innovation Park, and New World Science and Technology Demonstration Park.
In addition, to boost “Shaanxi People Visiting Xi’an,” the Xi’an Municipal Tourism Bureau will also launch a one-month “Enjoy Xi’an, People-Friendly Gift Pack Distribution” campaign in 11 urban districts of the province on that day.
The campaign will be carried out through on-site roadshow promotions. During the event, a total of 100,000 people-friendly gift packs, worth 50 million yuan, consisting of admission tickets and coupons from major tourist attractions, hotels, and tourism performance companies across the city, will be distributed.
Some Free and Half-Price Scenic Spots
On May 19, many scenic spots in Shaanxi will offer discounted tickets. The reporter has compiled a list of some scenic spots that will have free or half-price admission that day.
Xianyang City: All privately-run museums in Qindu District will be open free of charge that day, and all cultural and tourism attractions in Wugong County will be completely free that day.
Hanzhong City: The Juyuan, Liyuan, Chayuan, and Yingyuan scenic areas will be free. The Liping, Qingmuchuan, Wuhou Tomb, Huayang, Zhangliang Temple–Zibai Mountain, Wuhou Shrine, Baijiangtan, Nanhu, Cailun Tomb Shrine, Zhuhui Ecological Park, Shimen, Nansha Lake, Panda Valley, Wulong Cave, Wuzi Mountain, Tiantai Mountain, Zhang Qian Memorial Hall, Lingyan Temple, Qinba Folk Village, and Hongsi Lake scenic areas will offer half-price tickets.
Yangling: Half-price tickets for Innovation Park and New World Science and Technology Demonstration Park, as well as half-price tickets for Yangling Expo Park.
Tongchuan City: Half-price tickets for Yaowang Mountain and Yuhua Palace.
Weinan City: From May 18 to 20, the Qiaochuan Scenic Area will offer half-price tickets for Maiden’s Spring and Fushan scenic areas.
