Wang Weimin’s Deeds Exhibition Hall is a patriotic education base.

Wang Weimin’s Deeds Exhibition Hall is located at the Linpan Oil Extraction Plant in Linyi County, Dezhou City, Shandong Province. Officially completed and opened to the public in April 1999, it is an educational base established by the Shengli Petroleum Administration to study and promote the deeds of Comrade Wang Weimin and to carry forward the "Weimin Spirit." Since its opening, it has received over 170,000 visitors in more than 1,700 group visits from government departments, communities, schools, factories, enterprises, and other organizations for study and education. In recent years, the exhibition hall has been awarded several honorary titles, including "Advanced Unit in Ideological Construction for Minors in Shandong Province," "Patriotic Education Base in Dezhou City," and "Top Ten Civilized Windows of Shengli Oilfield."

Wang Weimin was transferred to the Linpan Oil Extraction Plant of Shengli Oilfield in 1981. During his more than ten years of work in the oilfield, he overcame unimaginable difficulties, innovated on the job, and achieved over 30 innovations, five of which were granted national patents. He was honored with more than 50 titles, including "National Model Worker" and "China Skills Award." In 1993, he was elected as a deputy to the Eighth National People's Congress and was personally received by national leaders such as Deng Xiaoping, Jiang Zemin, and Li Peng on four occasions. On April 17, 2006, seven ministries including the Ministry of Labor and Social Security jointly issued the "Notice on Carrying Out Activities to Study the Advanced Deeds of China’s High-skilled Talent Role Models," in which the late Wang Weimin was ranked first.

With his ordinary yet great life, Wang Weimin erected a monument to the working class and left behind the invaluable spiritual legacy of the "Weimin Spirit," which centers on "dedication, love for the people, and selflessness." The Wang Weimin’s Deeds Exhibition Hall is the main platform for inheriting and promoting the "Weimin Spirit." Through continuous in-depth research and exploration, the "Weimin Spirit" now embodies new contemporary meanings: a dedication to one’s job as if it were one’s home and a strong sense of responsibility; a persistent spirit of diligent learning and honing technical skills; an innovative spirit of bold exploration and being a pioneer; and a selfless spirit of devotion and wholehearted service to the people.

To study and promote the deeds of Comrade Wang Weimin and further carry forward the "Weimin Spirit," the Shengli Petroleum Administration built this exhibition hall at the Linpan Oil Extraction Plant. The exhibition hall covers an area of 16,800 square meters, with a total construction area of 1,854 square meters. The buildings within the hall are divided into three parts: the main hall, the achievements exhibition room, and supporting office facilities, with a staff of more than ten people including guides, guards, landscaping, and venue maintenance personnel. The main hall consists of a central hall and three exhibition rooms. The exhibition rooms use various methods such as sculptures, photos, texts, physical objects, special scenes, and short videos to showcase Wang Weimin’s glorious life of "dedication, love for the people, and selflessness." It is both deeply ideological and highly artistically moving. To inspire more young employees to innovate and create value like Wang Weimin, in 2005, the Linpan Oil Extraction Plant also established a dedicated exhibition room for employees’ innovation achievements west of the Wang Weimin’s Deeds Exhibition Hall, visually presenting over 40 high-quality achievements.

Since its completion, the exhibition hall has received care and support from all sectors of society. Wang Weimin’s spirit of hard work and dedication in his work and his spirit of helping others by giving all he had in his life have served as a spiritual baptism for every visitor. The exhibition hall has attracted attention from multiple TV media outlets, including Shandong Television, Shengli Television, and Dezhou Television. Staff at the exhibition hall provide enthusiastic and thoughtful voluntary guided tours on both weekdays and holidays, actively cooperating with various levels of management units, local governments, and surrounding enterprises and schools to carry out integrity education activities for Party members and cadres. Visiting the exhibition hall has become an essential part of annual education for new Party members and cadre training for management units and surrounding enterprises and institutions, playing a demonstrative role in supporting the integrity and anti-corruption education efforts of oilfield units and local governments and enterprises.

At the Linpan Oil Extraction Plant where Wang Weimin worked and lived, young employees are organized to visit the exhibition hall for study every year. While calling on these young people to learn from the advanced deeds of Comrade Wang Weimin, they are encouraged to compare themselves with the "Weimin Spirit" to identify gaps in dedication; to compare their skills with Wang Weimin’s to identify gaps in technical ability; and to compare their work attitude with Wang Weimin’s to identify gaps in responsibility. Young people are educated to regard "dedication," "technical skill," and "responsibility" as the foundation for establishing themselves and their careers, and as the fundamental path to realizing the value of life.

Through the educational platform of Wang Weimin’s Deeds Exhibition Hall, the atmosphere of learning from Wang Weimin and innovating and creating value on the job at the Linpan Oil Extraction Plant is very strong. According to incomplete statistics, in the past five years, the plant’s skilled personnel have won 165 technical innovation achievements at the plant level or above, creating tens of millions of yuan in direct economic benefits annually. The extraction plant has successively been awarded titles such as "Advanced Unit in Skilled Talent Development in the Oilfield," "Gold Award" in the oilfield’s "IMSS Innovation System" competition, "Labor Award Certificate for Enriching the People and Revitalizing Shandong" in Shandong Province, the National "May 1st" Labor Medal, "Advanced Unit in Corporate Culture Construction," and "Outstanding Grassroots Party Organization of Central Enterprises." On January 15, 2006, the CCTV News Broadcast program specifically reported on the advanced deeds of employees’ innovation and creation of value at the Linpan Plant. On January 16, 2006, the Shandong Provincial Federation of Trade Unions and the administration held a field meeting at the Linpan Plant on "Inheriting and Promoting the Weimin Spirit to Promote Job-based Technical Innovation by Employees." After Wang Weimin was named a "Model of China’s High-skilled Talents" by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security of China, on June 13, 2006, the administration also held a mobilization meeting at the Linpan Plant to study the model of China’s high-skilled talents.

Wang Weimin’s Deeds Exhibition Hall has promoted the inheritance and promotion of the "Weimin Spirit" and has developed into an important patriotic education base. It has played a positive guiding role in helping the younger generation establish correct worldviews, outlooks on life, and values, greatly advancing and promoting the construction of socialist spiritual civilization.
