Qishan Back Palace

Qishan Back Palace is a cultural heritage site protected at the municipal level in Jinan.

Qishan Back Palace is located in Qishanguan Village, Lixin Subdistrict, Gangcheng District. It dates back to the Qing Dynasty and is classified as an ancient architectural structure.

On December 30, 2004, Qishan Back Palace was designated as a municipal-level cultural heritage site of Jinan City.

Qishanguan Village: Qishanguan Village is situated 21 kilometers southeast of Laiwu City and 4 kilometers east of Lixin Town. To the east is Quanli Village, to the north is Yangjialou Village, to the west is Jiaojiazhuang Village, and to the south lies Qishan Mountain. In 2002, the village had a total of 199 households with a population of 543, all of whom were Han Chinese, and cultivated an area of 1,036 mu.

According to *Records of Chinese Villages*, Qishanguan was first built during the Northern Song Dynasty and was originally named “Dongzhen Guan.” During the Southern Song Dynasty, when the area was under the control of the Jin people, the Taoist master Qiu Chuji of the Changchun Sect once lived in seclusion here.
