Xingjiayu Village is situated on the western shore of Xueye Lake, where numerous local restaurants specialize in authentic Xueye Fish Head. The village is home to two scenic spots: Snowy Wild Three Gorges (a 2A-level attraction) and Jinniwan. Within the Snowy Wild Three Gorges area, waterfalls cascade from great heights, streams flow gently, springs bubble up, and pools shine in brilliant greens. The sounds of insects, birdsong, and fluttering butterflies fill the air amidst verdant pines, maples, and colorful wildflowers. The name “Snowy Wild Three Gorges” is not an attempt to ride the coattails of the Yangtze River’s Three Gorges—it truly consists of three gorges: Qinglong Gorge, Laolong Gorge, and Wulong Gorge. The Jinniwan scenic area combines mountains, water, forests, springs, waterfalls, gorges, and caves, along with lush greenery, clear waters, unique formations, serene beauty, and thrilling landscapes. Its stunning natural scenery blends seamlessly with ancient folk legends, creating a uniquely captivating tourism destination.

Xueye Lake shimmers with rippling blue waters, surrounded by majestic, towering mountains that make for an exceptionally enchanting view. Boating on the lake enhances the scenery even further. It’s truly as the saying goes: “From the mountain, the water looks even clearer; in the water, the mountain appears even greener; the blending of mountain and water creates a seamless, connected landscape.” The finest ingredients in Xueye come from here—early in the morning, as mist hovers over Xueye Lake and dawn breaks, fishermen head out in their boats to their designated fishing areas to “haul in the catch.”

In 1992, villager Xing Shuye seized the opportunity presented by Xueye’s development into a tourism zone and built a restaurant building along the Laiming Road, putting up the sign for the “Fish Head King” restaurant. It was the first to introduce a new dish: “Clay Pot Fish Head.” This dish is made by placing a premium flower carp fish head in a clay pot, adding various seasonings, and then slow-cooking it without adding water, broth, boiling, steaming, or frying—similar to what locals call “dry roasting.” Once the cooking process is complete and the pot is opened, the fish meat is seen to be snow-white and tender. One bite reveals a deliciously fragrant, smooth, and tender flavor that is sure to whet anyone’s appetite. “If you don’t eat the flower carp fish head, you’ve wasted your trip to Xueye.” Nowadays, numerous fish head restaurants line the Laiming Road outside the village, and Xueye Fish Head has become a key culinary attraction drawing food lovers from all directions.

There’s more to do here than just eat—the Snowy Wild Three Gorges tourism area features deep, rugged gorges, jagged rocks, winding paths, murmuring streams, layered green mountains, and a landscape alive with birdsong and floral scents, alternating between rugged wildness and gentle beauty. It stands out uniquely. Dominated by evergreen trees, it offers the changing beauty of spring blossoms, summer shade, autumn fruits, and winter greenery. Every mountain is forested, flowers bloom everywhere, presenting a scene of red blooms and green willows, with clear mountains and pristine waters. The Jinniwan Scenic Tourism Area integrates mountains, water, forests, springs, waterfalls, gorges, and caves, along with lush greenery, clear waters, unique formations, serene beauty, and thrilling landscapes. Its beautiful natural scenery is intertwined with ancient folk legends and fascinating anecdotes, forming a uniquely distinctive tourism resource.
