Niquan Town governs 69 administrative villages, with 22,800 households and a population of 75,000, covering an area of 150 square kilometers. It has been honored as a “Shandong Province Environmentally Beautiful Town,” “Shandong Province’s Most Development-Potential Town,” and “Shandong Province Civilized Town.” The area boasts rich tourism resources. Historically, it was the site of the “Jiagu Alliance Meeting,” where Huang Chao fell from his horse, and where Wu Zixu struck the Crouching Dragon Stone, among others. In modern times, it is home to the “Monk’s Cave,” the birthplace of the Laiwu County Committee, and the former residence of revolutionary martyr Liu Zhongying. Man-made attractions include the China Wang Xizhi Stele Forest and the Qi Shijiao Tomb Cluster. Natural attractions feature the picturesque Bijiashan Mountain, the scenic Yuntaishan Mountain, and the vast Bogelou Reservoir, gradually forming a tourism layout of “two mountains embracing one body of water.”

In 2010, relying on the Bijiashan Scenic Area, Niquan Town established the Bijiashan Rural Tourism Cooperative. It mainly operates rural homestay accommodations, specialty dining, the cultivation and sale of agricultural and sideline products, agro-ecological sightseeing, and folk experience services. The cooperative strives to enhance the cultural depth and competitiveness of the tourism market by enriching and developing rural tourism products unique to Niquan.
