The Luzhong Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall is a science education base, a classic red tourism destination, and a patriotic education base.

The Luzhong Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall was formerly the East Hall of the Laiwu Campaign Memorial. On January 15, 2015, the municipal Party committee and government decided to invest 54 million yuan to renovate, reinforce, redesign, and exhibit the hall as the Luzhong Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall, in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

The Luzhong Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall covers a construction area of 3,400 square meters, with an exhibition area of 3,000 square meters. The memorial hall focuses on the history of the anti-Japanese base areas and the establishment of the united front in the Luzhong region (mainly including counties and districts such as Linqu, Yiyuan, Laiwu, Zhangqiu, Xintai, Tai'an, Mengyin, Feixian, Yishui, Anqiu, Yidu, Zichuan, Boshan, Licheng, Sishui, and Yinan) during the Anti-Japanese War, as well as the development of the anti-Japanese national united front. It objectively and truthfully showcases the outstanding contributions made by the Party, government, military, and civilians in the Luzhong region during the war, reflects the heinous crimes committed by the Japanese imperialism against the people of Luzhong, and highlights the great patriotism and the heroic, tenacious, and sacrifice-driven revolutionary spirit of the Luzhong people. The memorial hall has two floors and displays over 700 photos, 15 scenes, and more than 600 cultural relics. It is divided into the Martyrs’ Corridor, the Lobby, and four exhibition halls. The Martyrs’ Corridor features the names of 9,430 martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the Luzhong region during the war; the Lobby mainly includes a thematic sculpture of the nationwide resistance and a large LED screen playing original historical footage of the war; the first exhibition hall focuses on the atrocities committed by the Japanese army; the second highlights the development of the anti-Japanese base areas; the third showcases major battles and campaigns; and the fourth presents the deeds of heroes and model figures.

The Luzhong Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall is currently the only comprehensive venue in the province that reflects the all-people resistance in the Luzhong region. The completion of the memorial hall fills the gap of having no dedicated war memorial in the city, promotes the development of red culture, enriches educational content, and establishes a layout where the East Hall serves as the Luzhong Anti-Japanese War Memorial and the West Hall as the Laiwu Campaign Memorial, providing a better educational platform for all sectors of society. Since its opening on September 1, 2015, it has been successively named: “Shandong Provincial Patriotic Education Base,” “Shandong Provincial Base for Educating the Next Generation,” “Shandong Provincial Social Science Popularization Education Base,” and “Laiwu Municipal Party Spirit Education Base,” among other honorary titles.
