Qianzhangda Ruins

The Qianzhangda Ruins are a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Qianzhangda Ruins are located in Qianzhangda Village, about 3 kilometers from Guanqiao Town, covering an area of approximately 20 hectares, and are 1 kilometer west of the ancient city of the Xue State.

From 1978 to 2001, the Qianzhangda Ruins were excavated more than ten times by the Institute of Archaeology, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, during which over 100 tombs were cleared and more than 20,000 cultural relics were unearthed. Notably, the Western Zhou dynasty bronze ritual vessels, weapons, jade artifacts, and wine vessels excavated in the winter of 1994 were listed among the top ten archaeological discoveries in China that year.

From 1995 to 1998, five well-preserved large chariot and horse pits were excavated, causing a sensation in the archaeological community. According to archaeological evidence, the Qianzhangda tomb complex was the burial ground of the nobility of the Xue State during the early Western Zhou dynasty.
