Liucun Pear Orchard Scenic Area

The Liucun Pear Orchard Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Liucun Ten Thousand Mu Pear Orchard is located in Liucun, Chaihedian Town, Tengzhou City, on the alluvial fans of the Shizi River and the ancient Xue River. With a long history of pear cultivation starting from the third year of the Hongwu era in the Ming Dynasty (1370), it is known as the Ten Thousand Mu Pear Orchard and famed for its production of "crisp pears." The "Liucun Crisp Pear" has been certified as an organic food and designated as an official product for the 11th National Games, and has also received National Geographical Indication certification. The Liucun Pear Orchard has been recognized as a "National Pear Industry Technology System Construction Demonstration Garden" and a "National Modern Agricultural Industry Technology System Demonstration Base."

Leveraging the pear orchard, efforts have been made to vigorously develop leisure agriculture and rural tourism. Following a model of "government guidance, policy incentives, market-oriented operations, and corporate management," over 520 mu of orchard land has been developed into a premium garden. The area will further explore pear orchard culture and Xue River culture, and vigorously develop an agricultural sightseeing and leisure economy, aiming to build an ecological and cultural tourism destination in southern Shandong that integrates cultural experience, sightseeing and fruit picking, leisure and entertainment, and health and vacation.

The scenic area has been equipped with infrastructure such as water, electricity, roads, and communication facilities. Roads within the scenic area, including Liuyuan Road, Xuehe Road, and Huanglianshan Tourism Road, have been constructed. Roads leading to the scenic area have undergone upgrades including hardening, greening, lighting, and beautification. Roadside lines and billboards have been uniformly regulated, and traffic signage for the scenic area has been installed at major intersections.

The pear orchard scenic area focuses on exploring pear culture, featuring iconic structures such as the Pear Tree Eco-Gate, Pear Blossom Fairy, Pear-Viewing Pavilion, and King Pear Platform. In line with the scenic area’s water-friendly features, landscapes including the Riverside Scenic Garden, Water Amusement Park, Tribute Pear Picking Garden, and Garden-within-a-Garden have been planned and built. The area also includes distinctive attractions such as the scenic plaza, bamboo screen wall, Flowing Fragrance Pavilion, Pear Blossom Poetry Corridor, and Immortal Bridge. It deeply explores pear tree culture elements such as the Mandarin Duck Tree, Crouching Dragon Pear, Drunken Eight Immortals, and Well-Protecting Dragon King. Facilities such as the Xuehe Pear Village Entrance Archway, Visitor Center, Tourist Souvenir Sales Outlet, and Dining Wooden Cabins have been established, organically integrating historical culture with natural landscapes and promoting the development of leisure agriculture and rural tourism.
