Dongcun is located in the eastern part of the urban area, adjacent to Longquan Road, offering convenient transportation. The village covers an area of over 800 acres, with 1,300 households, a population of 3,448, and 1,419 acres of arable land. The community is primarily agricultural, mainly cultivating flowers and crops. In 2006, an investment of 30 million yuan was made to build the Southern Shandong Flower Trading Center, which has become the largest flower cultivation, breeding, and sales market in southern Shandong. It is a key project in Tengzhou’s agricultural industrialization and one of the city’s AA-rated tourist attractions. The total investment in the project amounts to 300 million yuan. Nearly 350 merchants have settled in, providing over 2,000 job opportunities. To enhance the landscape of the flower trading center and promote standardized production and management, the Longquan Subdistrict invested more than 2 million yuan to comprehensively package phases one and two. The Dongcun Yisheng Flower Production and Sales Association was established, with 256 member businesses, and the base now spans over 800 acres. Currently, the flower trading center has become a breeding base for flowers and seedlings in northern China, a logistics hub and acclimatization base for floral products moving between north and south, as well as an important tourist and leisure destination in Tengzhou. It has been honored as a “Provincial Featured Tourism Village,” a “Zaozhuang Municipal-Level Economically Strong Village,” and a “Zaozhuang Municipal-Level Eco-Civilized Village,” and has been rated as an advanced unit by the subdistrict Party committee and office for many consecutive years.

With continuous economic development, the construction of a new socialist countryside has also been steadily improved. All residential communities within the jurisdiction now enjoy seven utilities: electricity, water supply, road access, postal service, telephone, cable TV, and internet.

Dongcun in Longquan Subdistrict enjoys a superior location and convenient transportation, with a high level of urbanization. It borders the Rizhao Lanshan Seaport to the east and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal to the west.
