Zhuanglixi Site

The Zhuanglixi Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Shandong Province.

The Zhuanglixi Site is located approximately 200 meters west of Zhuanglixi Village, Jiangtun Town, Tengzhou City, Shandong Province. It is an ancient site.

It is square-shaped, with each side about 200 meters long, and consists of three terraced levels, the highest being about 5 to 6 meters. Steep cliffs, about 5 meters high, are formed in the northeast and southeast, exposing ash pits and ash soil layers. Scattered throughout are many clam shells, deer antlers, pottery fragments—including high-stemmed, triangular tripod feet, flat round tripod feet, vessel lids, vessel bottoms, and black pottery shards—dating back to the Longshan Culture period. In the southern and southwestern parts of the site, ten Zhou Dynasty tombs have been excavated over time, yielding a number of valuable bronze artifacts such as li tripods, ding tripods, wine vessels, dagger-axes, swords, basins, gui containers, you flasks, bells, and chariot and horse fittings.

On December 7, 2006, the Zhuanglixi Site was designated as part of the third batch of Provincial-Level Cultural Heritage Protection Units by the People's Government of Shandong Province.
