Hougongqiao Site

The Hougongqiao Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Shandong Province.

The Hougongqiao Site is located in Guanqiao Town, Tengzhou City. It dates back to the Neolithic Age and the Han Dynasty. In 2013, the Hougongqiao Site was designated as part of the fourth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units by the People's Government of Shandong Province.

Guanqiao Town: Located in the southern part of Shandong Province, Guanqiao lies to the north of the sacred lands of Qilu’s Confucius and Mencius, adjacent to the Su-Huai Plain and Zaozhuang New District to the south, the remaining ranges of the Yishan Mountains to the east, and the shores of Weishan Lake to the west. Covering a total area of 64 square kilometers with a population of 81,000, it has been recognized as Tengzhou City’s “Economically Strong Town” for three consecutive years, a provincial-level “Safe and Civilized Town for Comprehensive Social Governance,” and a central town of Shandong Province. In 2001, the town achieved a gross domestic product of 460 million yuan, a total industrial and agricultural output value of 820 million yuan, and an urban cultural level of 30%.
