Houhuangzhuang Site

The Houhuangzhuang Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Shandong Province.

The Houhuangzhuang Site is located in Chaihudian Town, Tengzhou City. It dates back to the Shang and Zhou dynasties. In 2013, the site was designated as part of the fourth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units by the People's Government of Shandong Province.

Chaihudian Town: Chaihudian Town is situated in the southernmost part of Tengzhou City, covering a total area of 62.74 square kilometers with a population of 46,000. It administers 41 administrative villages.

The area boasts a vast cluster of ancient Han Dynasty tombs, the Laojun Temple built during the Tang Dynasty, cliff inscriptions, the Lvzu Pavilion dedicated to Lü Dongbin from the Ming Dynasty, the Old North Palace known as the foremost Taoist temple in southern Shandong, and the Chefu Shrine dedicated to Xi Zhong. With beautiful scenery, the Liu Village Pear Orchard, which has a history of over 600 years, offers enchanting views in all seasons: in spring, there’s the breathtaking sight of pear blossoms “like thousands of snowdrifts stirred by the wind,” in summer it resembles an emerald ocean, and in autumn...
