Fossil Valley Site

The Fossil Valley Site is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Shandong Province.

The Fossil Valley Site is located southwest of Fossil Valley Village in Mushi Town, Tengzhou City, and is a municipal-level cultural heritage site under the protection of Zaozhuang City. The site sits on a plain highland with relatively flat terrain and borders the Xiao Yi River to the south. The cultural layer is 0.8 to 1.5 meters thick, and surface remains include fragments of pottery jars, basins, roof tiles, and cylindrical tiles, dating from the Western Zhou Dynasty to the Han Dynasty.

In 2013, the Fossil Valley Site was designated as part of the fourth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the People’s Government of Shandong Province.
