The Dagongzhuang Site

The Dagongzhuang Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Shandong Province.

The Dagongzhuang Site is located in Hongxu Town, Tengzhou City, and dates back to the Shang, Zhou, and Han dynasties.

On June 23, 2015, the Dagongzhuang Site was designated as part of the fifth batch of Provincial-level Cultural Heritage Protection Units by the People’s Government of Shandong Province.

Hongxu Town: Hongxu Town is under the jurisdiction of Tengzhou City, Shandong Province. It is situated in the southwestern suburbs of the city, covering a total area of 36 km² with a population of 42,000. The town governs 34 administrative villages and has been widely known for decades as an “industrial town,” often referred to as the “Pearl of Southern Shandong.” Hongxu enjoys a superior location and a long cultural history. To the west lies the ancient Wengong Terrace from the Spring and Autumn Period, to the north are scenic sites related to Confucius and Mencius, and it is close to the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. Within its boundaries are the ruins of the Teng State city wall, ancient beacon towers, General Pavilion, and more. The Beijing-Shanghai Railway and National Highway 104 run through the town, while the Beijing-Fuzhou Expressway lies to the east.
