Lüpo Site

The Lüpo Site is a Shandong Provincial Cultural Heritage Protection Unit.

The Lüpo Site is located at the western end of Lüpo Village, Baogou Town, Tengzhou City, Shandong Province. It stretches 900 meters from north to south and 450 meters from east to west, covering a total area of approximately 38,000 square meters. Surface-collected pottery fragments include tripod feet, jar rims, bowl rims, basin rims, li tripod rims, tube tiles, and slab tiles.

The oldest remains at the site date back about 5,000 years. It is an ancient human activity site discovered in the 1980s, containing historical relics from various periods including the Dawenkou, Longshan, Yueshi, Zhou, and Han dynasties. Its antiquity is second only to the Beixin and Dawenkou cultural sites. It has now been preserved on-site with soil covering.

On June 23, 2015, the Lüpo Site was designated as part of the fifth batch of Shandong Provincial Cultural Heritage Protection Units by the People's Government of Shandong Province.

Baogou Town: Baogou Town is located in the southwestern part of Tengzhou City. The Beijing-Shanghai Railway and National Highway 104 run through the town from north to south, while the Duxi Highway crosses from east to west. To the east, it connects to the exit of the Beijing-Fuzhou Expressway, giving it a superior geographical location and convenient transportation. The town governs 66 administrative villages, covering a total area of 74.6 square kilometers with a population of 81,000. Three major coal mines currently under construction—the Jinzhuang Coal Mine, the Tengdong Coal Mine, and the North Seven Mining Area of the Tianchen Coal Mine—are driving strong new development momentum in southern Shandong’s coalfield, indicating significant economic growth potential.
