Jinghe Park

Jinghe Park is a national AA-level tourist attraction.

Jinghe Park is located on the banks of the Jing River, along the shore of Tengzhou City, west of Shanguo South Road. It was built on the reclaimed land and water area after the river’s meandering section was straightened. Construction of the park began in March 1985 and took seven to eight years to complete. Established in 1985, the park covers an area of 225 mu, including 85 mu of water surface, making it the largest public recreational space in Tengzhou City, Shandong Province. The park features rockeries, the Mozi Academy, Guanjing Pavilion, a roller skating rink, and a bonsai garden, making it a great place for leisure and relaxation. A poem praises the park: "From afar, the morning clouds over Dragon Mountain drift light, / Dawn’s glow paints the pavilion at the bridge’s heart bright; / Jing Spring sends a ribbon of green along the bay, / With peach blossoms dotting the grass in green array." The park is designed in the style of traditional classical Chinese gardens—high and sparse in some areas, dense in others—enclosing water to form lakes, gathering sand to create islands, all meticulously adorned to achieve a natural effect. Rolling hills and lush greenery frame the waters that wind around towers and gardens. Strolling through the landscape and lingering in pavilions and terraces, visitors find refinement in the ethereal beauty and elegance in the understated charm. It offers the joy of springs and woods, fulfills the desire to commune with nature, and embodies a serene and unworldly spirit. The east gate of Jinghe Park is situated on Shanguo South Road and serves as the main entrance. It is a building in traditional Chinese architectural style, featuring a hip-and-gable roof. Above the central gate lintel are inscribed the four large characters “Jinghe Park” (荆河公园), written by the renowned calligrapher Wang Xuezhong, a native of Tengzhou. Every year, the park hosts a variety of cultural and recreational activities, including the Mozi International Art Festival, the Golden Autumn Lantern Exhibition, exhibitions of works by renowned calligraphers and painters from within and outside the province, flower, bonsai, root carving, and stone exhibitions, the Lantern Festival, and summer garden parties.
