Nanpu Garden

Located on Fucheng Middle Road in the urban area, south of Tengwang Pavilion and at the head of the Fuchun River Bridge, it covers an area of 1 hectare and was established in 1979. In 1985, to coordinate with the reconstruction project of Tengwang Pavilion, it was redesigned. The old garden was demolished, the site expanded, and the garden rebuilt. A fence-style wall was erected, and a memorial archway gate was constructed with the inscription "Nanpu Flying Clouds" above the lintel. It was officially opened to the public in October 1986.

Nanpu Garden is strip-shaped and runs from north to south. The garden is primarily landscaped, with the central feature, "Nanpu Pavilion," currently planned but not yet built. Nanpu Pavilion is a famous historical site in Nanchang. According to *Records of Yuzhang*, it was described as "a place by the bridge where boats moored, outside the Qiaobu Gate"—essentially a docking area for boats. When first built, the pavilion served as a farewell and resting spot. After the Tang dynasty, the site became the Nanpu Post Station. Due to the famous line in the *Preface to the Tengwang Pavilion*—“In the morning, painted beams scatter the clouds of Nanpu”—Ming dynasty poets referred to "Nanpu Flying Clouds" as one of the "Eight Scenic Spots of Nanchang."
