Zhangling Reservoir Shuili Scenic Area is a National Water Conservancy Scenic Area.

Zhangling Reservoir Shuili Scenic Area is located in Duchang County, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, over 30 kilometers from the county seat. It is recognized as the ninth batch of National Water Conservancy Scenic Areas. Surrounded by mountains and rolling peaks, the area features a picturesque landscape where water and mountains complement each other. The scenic area boasts crystal-clear waters, serene primeval forests, and a rich diversity of flora and fauna, presenting a breathtaking natural picture scroll. The Zhangling Reservoir Water Conservancy Scenic Area in Duchang County consists of five main parts: two medium-sized reservoirs, two forest farms, and one forest park. The two medium-sized reservoirs are Dagang (also known as East Lake) and Zhangling Reservoir (also known as West Lake), the two forest farms are Hongguang Forest Farm and Wushan Forest Farm, and the provincial-level forest park is Duchang Sanjianyuan Forest Park.

Scenic Features

The Zhangling Reservoir Water Conservancy Scenic Area in Duchang County comprises five main parts: two medium-sized reservoirs, two forest farms, and one forest park. The two medium-sized reservoirs are Dagang (also known as East Lake) and Zhangling Reservoir (also known as West Lake), the two forest farms are Hongguang Forest Farm and Wushan Forest Farm, and the provincial-level forest park is Duchang Sanjianyuan Forest Park. Among them, the highest elevation of Sanjianyuan reaches 647.3 meters, with summer temperatures peaking at 25 degrees Celsius, making it a natural air-conditioned destination, often referred to as the "Little Lushan Mountain."

The water surface and air quality of the scenic area meet national first-class standards. The reservoir is surrounded by verdant mountains and overlapping peaks, with crystal-clear lake water that creates a poetic and picturesque scene, offering a refreshing and delightful experience. The surrounding primeval forests are home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, including numerous nationally and provincially protected animal species, earning it the title of "Wildlife Kingdom" and making it a premier tourist destination.

Development

Leveraging its mountain and water resources, the scenic area integrates four key sections for joint development: the reservoir’s natural landscape, red tourism sites, Sanjianyuan Forest Park, and ancient village attractions. The goal is to create a comprehensive water conservancy scenic area that combines sightseeing, leisure vacations, and conference facilities.
