July and Ansheng: Film Locations That Depict a Journey Between Wandering and Settling

In the movie, aside from the protagonists’ hometown being in Zhenjiang, their adulthood in Beijing also serves as a key setting. Other city streets such as Nanjing, Shanghai, Suichang in Zhejiang, Changchun, and Tibet also appear on screen. The film also uses numerous travel scenes to portray the contrasting traits of stability and wandering between the two characters through shifting settings.

Russia, Vladivostok — Tokarev Light
The Tokarev Light (Tokarev Light) in July’s journey symbolizes loneliness and the search for self. Located at Vladivostok Port, it was originally built in 1876, but the current lighthouse was constructed in 1910. It is made of stone and stands 12 meters tall.

COSTA Cruises
Both July and Ansheng’s journeys feature appearances of the Costa cruise ship. Ansheng embarks on new experiences aboard the ship, while July even works as a waitress on the Costa Serena, voyaging to various unknown places—just like each searching for answers to life.
Suichang Lingquan Cave
July, Ansheng, and the male lead Su Jiaming experience an emotional turning point during this outing. This Lingquan Cave earned its name due to spring water that flows from cracks in the rocks above. It is located at the southern foot of Mount Santai, about five li east of downtown Suichang.
