After its chocolate-themed promotion, Japan’s Krispy Kreme has introduced the trending Mr. Bubble-shaped donuts and opened two themed stores to boost popularity and discussion.

The Mr. Bubble-shaped donuts debuted on March 1, featuring six designs in flavors such as strawberry, custard, cantaloupe, maple, and chocolate custard. Starting March 15, Easter-themed bunny ears were also added to the Mr. Bubble donuts.
The Krispy Kreme collectible cards feature bunny ear designs to match the Easter holiday atmosphere.
Additionally, two limited-time Mr. Bubble-themed stores have been launched exclusively in Japan—one at Atre Kawasaki in Kanagawa and the other at LUCUA Osaka.

Krispy Kreme, which arrived in Japan in 2006, quickly gained popularity and expanded to 64 locations nationwide by 2015. However, by its 10th anniversary in 2016, the brand faced declining popularity. In January 2017, the closure of its flagship store at Shinjuku Southern Terrace drew significant attention.
Japan’s Krispy Kreme shifted its business model to move away from being just a popular queue-worthy shop, striving to become part of Japanese consumers' daily lives rather than just a passing trend. The brand placed greater emphasis on holiday-themed promotions, collaborations with cartoons, and cross-industry initiatives. Limited-time stores, various merchandise, and social media engagement also became key strategies for Krispy Kreme Japan.
