Lushan Xihai National Wetland Park is a national-level wetland park.

Jiangxi Lushan Xihai National Wetland Park is located in Wuning County, Jiangxi Province. It stretches from west to east along the boundary between Wuning and Xiushui counties, then winds its way into downtown Wuning, forming a “Ji”-shaped loop that directly connects to the city’s north, east, and west sides. The park encompasses the main course of the Xiushui River within Wuning County, Zhelin Lake, surrounding tidal flats, and some mountain forested areas. The planned total area is 24,713.9 hectares, of which 18,862.3 hectares are wetlands, accounting for 76.32% of the total park area.

The park features rich wetland biodiversity and scenic landscapes. According to statistics, a total of 295 species of wild vertebrates have been identified in the park and its surrounding mountainous areas, belonging to 39 orders and 118 families. Among these, there are 4 species under national first-class protection and 33 species of terrestrial wildlife under national second-class protection. There are also 299 species of wetland vascular plants, classified under 73 families and 199 genera. With its diverse ecosystem and beautiful environment, the park is a typical representative of the water-storage-oriented wetland ecosystems found in China’s southern regions.
