Boli Apartment

Boli Apartment, also known as Boli Mansion, is located in Lianhua Cave, Lianxi District, Jiujiang City. The apartment features a brick-concrete structure with a four-sloped roof and consists of two floors. It is 17.3 meters wide and 15.5 meters deep, with a total construction area of 536.3 square meters. There are inner corridors on all four sides—east, west, and north—on both the upper and lower levels. The arched corridor columns and the overall architectural form exhibit a distinct French architectural style. To the south, a mountain stream flows from east to west before turning north and passing in front of the building. The mansion is surrounded by lush trees, offering an elegant and scenic environment. In 2004, it was designated as a cultural relic protection unit of Jiujiang City.

The apartment was built in 1891 by a French man named Bo. He had worked at the Jiujiang Customs for many years and had a deep appreciation for Chinese culture. He loved Chinese culture and married a woman surnamed Li from Pengze. The couple had a very affectionate relationship, so locals called their residence Boli Apartment, derived from the combination of their surnames.
