Yingshi Ridge Reservoir

Yingshi Ridge Reservoir, located in the northwest of Guixi City, is about 33 kilometers southeast of downtown Guixi and 20 kilometers south of downtown Yingtan. It is a basin-type reservoir, built in 1956. In 1971, the dam was heightened by 3 meters. The reservoir currently has a water surface area of 118,700 mu, an irrigation area of 55,000 mu, and a fish farming area of 5,000 mu, with a total storage capacity of 53 million m³.

The highest water level is 50.5 meters, making it the largest reservoir in Yingtan City.　

The reservoir water is clear and transparent. The reservoir area is surrounded by mountains on all sides. Particularly on the eastern shore, there are over 10 peaks including Hulingyan and Jigongshan. These mountains are composed of red sandstone and feature Danxia landform characteristics. They rise abruptly from the ground, vary in shape, and form continuous ridges that complement the lush vegetation around the reservoir, creating a very pleasant landscape.　

There are also five small islands of various shapes scattered across the reservoir, such as Chuantou Mountain, which resembles the bow of a fishing boat, and Yanyoudun, which looks like a traditional salt-oil jar. Among them, Chuantou Mountain is the largest. The island is covered with dense fir and shrub forests, where thousands of rare birds and animals such as egrets, wild ducks, geese, wild boars, pythons, roe deer, and deer make their homes.　

The reservoir area also includes 264 mu of farmland, 225 mu of dry land, 532 mu of orchards, and 110 mu of fish ponds. The area boasts abundant agricultural and aquatic products, lush fruit trees, houses nestled among the scenery, crisscrossing fish ponds, wisps of cooking smoke, and the sounds of chickens and dogs — a picturesque rural scene.
