On August 14, the Humanities and Scientific Research Team of the Fengyun Club at China Agricultural University successfully completed three parts of their social practice activities: teaching support at the Caiquan Welfare Special School in Lhasa, Tibet; a research trip on targeted poverty alleviation in Dingjie County, Shigatse City; and a hiking research along the Gama Valley trekking route in Dingri County, Shigatse City. The 19 team members completed their 2016 expedition journey and boarded the return train on August 19.

On August 8, the team members set off for the hiking destination — Gama Valley. On August 9, they officially began their trekking journey. The total distance of this hike was 49.98 kilometers. Along the way, they encountered rainy scree slopes, hundred-meter landslides, and climbs to elevations of one thousand meters. Despite the tough conditions, everyone persevered while carrying heavy loads, continuously building their endurance and willpower. During the trek, they documented the Gama Valley trekking tourism route and the state of environmental protection along the way, resulting in the development of two research topics. Although the trek was a grueling process, the team members continuously overcame real-life difficulties and psychological barriers, daring to challenge and surpass themselves. This trek was not only a physical trial and test for the members but also a test of their mental strength. Through this experience, the members not only became more aware of the importance of physical fitness but also gained a deeper understanding of the Fengyun Club’s 16-character spirit: “Endurance and Hard Work, Unity and Cooperation, Dare to Win, and Strive for the Summit.” The preparation for the two research topics during the trek also deepened their understanding of natural environmental protection.
On August 13, 17 team members reached the Langma La Pass at an altitude of 5,356 meters and all safely returned to Qudang Township, Dingri County. With this, the 2016 summer social practice activity was successfully concluded. The Langma La Pass was the highest point reached during the trek. Moving through the valleys, walking with complete dedication each day — without words, without the need for encouragement — you knew you could finish the path. The simplicity of walking brought a different kind of fulfillment.
The successful completion of this summer practice activity would not have been possible without the strong support of the following organizations for the Humanities and Scientific Research Team: Hangzhou Keluo Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Zhongke Fu Chuang Jinlinbao Integrated Logistics Service Center, Cixi Shanrui Optoelectronics Co., Ltd., Xiamen ZhiLan Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., Putian Traveler Outdoor Products Co., Ltd., Hangzhou Xuntu Trading Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Qizhi Communication Technology Co., Ltd., Dongguan Hailutong Industrial Co., Ltd., Beijing Sperm Whale Travel Culture Co., Ltd., Beijing Tianjian Hospital, Boli Majietong Yitong Co., Ltd., Hangzhou Shuangmai Limited Trading Company, Wuxi Wenbeier Technology Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Haiyuntong Digital Communication Co., Ltd., Wujiang Longxinger Travel Products Co., Ltd., and DoubleJoy (Xiamen) Sports Products Co., Ltd. We hope that next year’s research team will continue to shine with youthful vigor, striving to make next year’s expedition even better. We also wish the Fengyun Club continued growth and success.
