On August 13, 2016, the third phase of the 2016 summer scientific expedition activity by the Humanities & Scientific Expedition Team of China Agricultural University Fengyun Club — a trek in the Kama Valley, Dingri County, Shigatse, Tibet — was successfully concluded. With this, the 2016 summer scientific expedition activities of the CAU Fengyun Club have been successfully completed.Gaining growth, and looking forward to an even more exciting future.
The Kama Valley is located along the Kama Tsangpo, an important tributary of the Pengqu River downstream in Dingri County and Dinggye County. It is a valley formed by glacial and fluvial erosion from snow-capped mountains. It stretches from the watershed between the Kada Tsangpo and Kama Tsangpo in the north, to Nepal’s Bardia National Park in the south, to Chenthang in the east, and to Mount Everest in the west. This beautiful valley features an elevation drop ranging from over 2,000 meters to over 5,000 meters, spanning a total length of 55 kilometers from east to west. The dramatic elevation change has created a rich diversity of ecological zones within the region, nurturing some of the best-preserved and most expansive primeval forests in the Everest area. It is a dream destination for many trekkers.
