Palace of Universal Salvation: At the very summit of Xianyan stands a grand and imposing structure called the “Palace of Universal Salvation.” It faces east and consists of five tiers, supported by nine large pillars that represent the imperial authority of the “Supreme Ultimate” (a symbol of imperial power), covering an area of 670 square meters with a height of 19 meters. The walls are painted red, the doors are scarlet, and the double-eaved roof is adorned with red pillars, all topped with gray glazed tiles. The structure is surrounded by granite railings, giving it a highly majestic appearance. Hundred Phoenixes Facing the Sun and Seven Stars Surrounding the Dipper: It was here that the 30th Celestial Master, Zhang Jixian (also known as the True Lord of Serene Silence), admired the beautiful scenery and was inspired to write the exquisite verse: “A stream of jade-like water merges in clarity; countless layers of purple and emerald mountains pile up.” The boundary is marked by the “Lion Looking Back” peak. To the south, clusters of peaks stand tall, resembling galloping steeds — this is the “Hundred Phoenixes Facing the Sun” peak group. To the north, seven peaks stand side by side, pointing directly toward the Big Dipper in the sky, forming the “Seven Stars Surrounding the Dipper” peak group. Scenic spots along the Luxi River such as the Immortal Peach Stone, Lotus Stone, and Mosquito-Free Village can all be seen from here. Occasionally, floating clouds drift through the mountains, and a gentle breeze blows. Gazing down at the landscape before you and looking back at the palace behind, you feel as though you are in a celestial paradise. No wonder ancient visitors couldn’t help but exclaim, “On cliffs a thousand feet high, white lotuses bloom on the immortal cliffs; wandering atop the summit, the view surpasses that of Penglai.” Truly, “Amid endless changes, where else is there such a blessed land on earth? With boundless splendor, here lies a hidden paradise.”
