Yunmeng Mountain Guigudong Cave

Yunmeng Mountain Guigudong Cave, also known as Longhu Mountain Guigudong Cave, is located in Lengshui Town, Guixi, in the southeastern part of Longhu Mountain, Yingtan City, Jiangxi Province. It lies eighty li south of Guixi City, spans an area of seventy li, and features towering peaks, vast seas of clouds, whispering pine waves, and ever-changing vistas. Its deep valleys and secluded gullies are otherworldly, truly resembling a celestial abode. Taoism regards it as the fifteenth of the Thirty-Six Grotto-Heavens, known as the "Noble and Mysterious True Heaven." According to the *Ming Yi Tong Zhi* (Comprehensive Gazetteer of the Ming Dynasty): "Master Guigu was a man of the Spring and Autumn period during the reign of Duke Ping of Jin. His surname was Wang and his given name was Xu. He once entered Yunmeng Mountain—also known as Longhu Mountain—to gather herbs, consumed them in a concoction, and thereby attained immortality. His appearance remained that of a youthful boy, and he resided in Guigu Valley by the Qingxi Stream, from which he took his name. Since the establishment of Longhu Mountain as a sacred site by the Celestial Master Zhang Daoling, Guigudong Cave has always been an important part of the Longhu Mountain scenic area."
