Shangqing Ancient Town has a history of over a thousand years. The town is part of the Mount Longhu Scenic Area and is located 25 kilometers from Yingtan City.

The ancient town boasts numerous historical and cultural attractions. The roughly 2-kilometer-long Shangqing Ancient Street includes landmarks such as Changqing Archway, Marquis of Liu’s Ancestral Temple, Celestial Master’s Mansion, Marquis of Liu’s Residence, Tianyuan De Medicine Shop, and a Catholic church. The riverside, lined with stilted houses and boat docks, gives the town a distinct Jiangnan water town charm. The scenery is further enhanced by women washing clothes along the river, girls beating laundry, children playing in the water, fishing boats dotting the water, and white ducks floating on the surface—creating a truly picturesque ancient town scene.

There are plenty of dining and shopping options on Shangqing Ancient Street, making it one of the more concentrated restaurant areas in the Mount Longhu region. After enjoying the sights, it’s a great place to grab a meal.
