Zhoufang Revolutionary Martyrs' Memorial Hall

The Zhoufang Revolutionary Martyrs' Memorial Hall is a national AA-level tourist attraction and a classic red tourism site.

The Zhoufang Revolutionary Martyrs' Memorial Hall is located in the center of Zhoufang Shaojia Village, in the revolutionary base area of Northeastern Jiangxi. It was personally selected and surveyed for its location by Comrade Shao Shiping, Jiangxi’s first provincial governor in the early years after the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Construction began on April 1, 1951, and was completed in October 1952. The memorial hall covers an area of 1,376 square meters, with a building area of 380 square meters and a total exhibition line of 70 meters. In April 1986, it was designated as a county-level cultural relics protection unit by the Guixi County People's Government. In March 1995, it was recognized as a patriotic education base by both the Guixi and Yingtan municipal governments.

As the old memorial hall could no longer meet the needs of the times, in February 2002, the Guixi Civil Affairs Bureau funded the reconstruction of the hall on the mountainside of Chenbiaodun at the 37-kilometer mark of the Guishen Highway. The new hall covers an area of 2,210 square meters, with a building area of 520 square meters and an exhibition line of 80 meters. It currently displays 34 cultural relics, 19 oil paintings, 95 photographs, and 71 plaques. It receives over 40,000 visitors annually.

Zhoufang Town: Located on the northern border of Guixi, Zhoufang Town is the birthplace of the revolutionary base area of Northeastern Jiangxi. It borders Baitian Township to the east, Sili and Zhiguang Towns to the south, Yujiang County to the west, and neighbors Wannian County to the north. It is 37 km from downtown Guixi and 39 km from Yingtan City. The town enjoys convenient transportation and a beautiful environment.

The town covers a total area of 203 square kilometers, governs 15 administrative villages, 184 village groups, and has a population of 38,000. The arable land area is 4,320 hectares, and the forested area spans 180,000 mu. The total grain output accounts for 10% of the city’s total, making Zhoufang the second-largest town in Guixi and one of its six central market towns.
