Daoxue Family Memorial Archway

The Daoxue Family Memorial Archway is a cultural relic protection unit of Jiangxi Province.

The Daoxue Family Memorial Archway is located in Xujia Village, Huangbai, Hongtang Town, Guixi City. Built during the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty, it features four pillars, three bays, and five stories, all constructed from stone. Facing south, it stands 6 meters high and 7 meters wide. Below the dragon gate arch, the stone structure is adorned with carvings such as a phoenix facing the sun. The smaller central arch bears the inscription “Daoxue Family,” along with the date “Winter, Year Yimao, Wanli.” The main story features double-hooked stone inscriptions of the two large characters “Gongyuan” (Tribute Scholar), with two pairs of couplets inscribed on the adjacent four pillars.

This memorial archway has an exact date of construction, clear inscriptions, and remains well-preserved, making it of significant value for the study of Ming Dynasty memorial archway architecture and carving art.
