Xilin Plum Garden

Xilin Plum Garden is located in the western part of Shangchi Village. Wang Anshi and his second son once came here to admire the plum blossoms, and a poem titled “Plum Blossoms at Xilin” was left behind: “When flowers are in full bloom in Du’s garden fair, / A couple of frosty plum blossoms scent the air. / At dusk I wish to go home to the rocky cave, / But I come back again drawn by the fragrant snow.” Later, this garden became the Xilin Community Shrine of Shangchi Village, serving as a place for seasonal worship by the villagers...

Xilin Plum Garden

Xilin Plum Garden is situated in the western part of Shangchi Village. Wang Anshi and his second son once visited here to enjoy the plum blossoms, leaving behind the poem “Plum Blossoms at Xilin”: “When flowers are in full bloom in Du’s garden fair, / A couple of frosty plum blossoms scent the air. / At dusk I wish to go home to the rocky cave, / But I come back again drawn by the fragrant snow.” Later, this garden became the Xilin Community Shrine of Shangchi Village, which served as a place for the villagers’ seasonal worship. The original Xilin Community Shrine was destroyed during the Cultural Revolution, though its foundation walls and two stone piers near the gate still remain. Nearby, there is a rebuilt Long’an Hall, which was also destroyed during the Cultural Revolution. The location of the Xilin Community Shrine is marked on the old base map of Shangchi Village.
