The entire blue wall surface, adorned with simple white lines, depicts one of the most beautiful sceneries of Tainan’s streets. After being reborn on Ximen Road at the end of 2015, the Blue Print mural once again captured the attention of travelers. But in fact, Taiwan’s Blue Print murals aren’t limited to Tainan—other cities and counties also have their own versions. This article compiles four must-see Blue Print murals around Taiwan. Each artwork integrates local landscapes or culture, telling uniquely different stories. When you have some free time, why not go and appreciate them, and experience a different side of Taiwan’s urban scenery?

1. Changhua — Fubao Village (Cow Painting Village)
Fubao Village in Changhua County is Taiwan’s largest dairy farming region, known as the “Hometown of Dairy Cows.” To create an image of dairy cows, Village Chief Huang Yaohui and his son Huang Mingzong repainted the exteriors of village buildings with bright colors and added various adorable cow designs, helping the Cow Painting Village gain widespread fame.

After the Blue Print mural on Tainan’s Haian Road was painted over in 2014—seemingly filling a void in collective memory—Huang Yaohui brought the concept to Fubao Village. With help from family, villagers, and Mr. Zhuo Yonghe, who had worked on the original Tainan Blue Print mural, they created an interactive version. Features like chairs that stick out from walls and bathroom doors that can actually be opened make visitors feel as though they’re truly stepping into a living Blue Print mural, adding even more charm to the Cow Painting Village.

2. Tainan — Blue Print Cultural and Creative Park
After being painted over in 2014, Tainan’s Blue Print mural was reborn at the end of 2015 in the First Judicial New Village and transformed into the “Blue Print Cultural and Creative Park.” The revived mural is no longer just a flat surface—it utilizes nighttime lighting, lines, and spatial extension to become a 3D, immersive version.

The new Blue Print mural extends throughout the creative park space. Not only is the exterior wall photo-worthy, but inside there are additional installations that integrate with the Blue Print design, allowing visitors to literally walk through this dreamy blue space. This unique experience draws even more people to visit.

3. Yilan — Luodong Blue Print Mural
The Luodong Blue Print mural is currently the “youngest” among the four. Located in Renhe Community near Luodong Night Market, efforts to give old buildings a fresh look involved community space renovations, with colorful paints applied to walls—including a hidden Blue Print mural nestled within residential homes.

The Luodong Blue Print mural is quite hidden. You first need to quietly pass through narrow alleys between houses before discovering the beautiful mural. In the center, a small platform is designed for visitors to lean on and take photos. Aside from the Blue Print itself, Renhe Community has also created a whole alley of colorful paintings that vividly depict the daily life and environment of residents, adding charm to the aging buildings and making it one of Luodong’s newest hotspots for photos.

4. Taitung — Inverted Blue Print Mural
Taitung’s inverted Blue Print mural is located behind Eslite Bookstore’s Taitung Story House. Also created by artist Liu Guocang, the wall depicts an upside-down library space where a hanging ladder naturally blends into the mural. Another mural ingeniously incorporates a nearby large tree, creating the illusion of resting under the shade—making it a hidden gem in Taitung.
